About the journal

Water Bioresources and Aquaculture is a scientific professional publication founded in 2017 by the Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University.

The idea of creating the journal belongs to the prominent scientist, talented teacher, doctor of agricultural sciences, professor, Honored Worker of Science and Technology of Ukraine Yuriy V. Pylypenko.

Yuriy Pilipenko was born on October 28, 1958 in Kherson. He received his education at the ichthyology faculty of the Kaliningrad Technical Institute of Fisheries and Economy.

Since 1980 he has worked as a senior laboratory assistant, senior researcher, assistant, associate professor of the Department of Fisheries, and was Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Ecology at the Kherson State Agrarian University (today – Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University). From 2011 to 2013 he worked as the first Vice-Rector, Vice-Rector for scientific and pedagogical work of the University. He defended his dissertation in 1989, his doctorate in 2007, and received his scientific title of professor in 2008. He supervised postgraduate and doctoral students in the specialties "Ecology", "Ichthyology", "Fisheries" and "Water bioresources and aquaculture". He was a member of specialized scientific councils for the defense of PhD and doctoral theses.

The publication of the scientific journal Water Bioresources and Aquaculture was founded through the personal efforts of Yuri Vladimirovich to provide scientists and practitioners in the field of fisheries with information on the results of research works, theoretical and experimental studies on the protection, reproduction and cultivation of aquatic resources. operation. The first issues of the edition came under the direction of Yuri Vladimirovich, who was convinced that in the near future the edition would be filled with unique articles that would reflect information about significant achievements and contributions to the development of the fishing industry and fisheries science.

Professional registration: Based on the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine № 409 as of 17.03.2020 (annex 1), the journal is included in the List of scientific professional editions of Ukraine (category “B”)  on agricultural sciences (101 – Ecology, 207 - Aquatic bioresources and aquaculture).

The purpose of the journal. The scientific journal Water Bioresources and Aquaculture was founded to provide scientists and practitioners in the field of fisheries with information on the results of research, theoretical and experimental research on the protection, reproduction and cultivation of water bioresources, their rational industrial exploitation.

Scope. The journal is designed for scientists and pedagogical staff, students and graduate students, producers who have found their vocation and devoted themselves to the development of the fishing industry and fisheries science.

Licensing conditions. Authors reserve copyright and grant the publisher the right to publish original manuscripts, which present the findings of experimental and theoretical research and have not been published previously and have not been submitted for publication in other journals. All materials are distributed based on Creative Commons Attribution License International CC-BY. The license allows others to copy and redistribute the material giving appropriate credit.
